OYMI
Effective date: March 2026
Last updated: March 2026
This policy describes how OYMI, a voice journaling app for iPhone, treats your information. We aim to be clear about what happens on your device, what may involve a network connection, and what we do not do.
If anything here conflicts with more specific information shown inside the app for a particular feature, follow the in-app explanation for that feature and let us know if we should update this page.
OYMI lets you record voice journal entries, see them transcribed into text, browse past entries, and use optional features that offer AI-based insights related to your journal. It is designed with privacy in mind, including on-device transcription for your recordings.
Transcription happens entirely on your device. Your recordings are not sent to a server for processing.
Speech recognition runs on your iPhone so your voice can be turned into text without sending the audio to OYMI for transcription. This is separate from any AI insight features, which are described below.
Insight features are separate from transcription. OYMI includes features that use artificial intelligence to offer insights related to your journal.
Transcription happens entirely on your device. Your recordings are not sent to a server for processing.
Some features that provide insights process your transcribed text using external services. These features do not process your audio recordings.
The text is used only to generate the result and is not stored by OYMI beyond what is needed to deliver the feature.
On your device, OYMI processes your voice recordings to produce transcripts, stores your entries, and runs other app functions needed for journaling. Transcription, as stated above, is performed entirely on your device; your recordings are not sent to a server for that purpose.

Your journal entries (including audio and transcripts) are stored locally in the app on your iPhone. OYMI does not include built-in cloud backup of your journal. Your device or iCloud may still back up app data according to your system settings; that is controlled by iOS and your choices, not by a dedicated OYMI cloud sync product.
You can delete individual entries and edit transcript text in the app, as provided by the product. Deleting the app removes OYMI’s data from your device; OYMI does not include built-in cloud backup, so the app cannot restore entries after removal. Recovery may still be possible through device or iCloud backups managed outside OYMI.
OYMI does not use third-party analytics or tracking tools.
Apple provides platform services (such as the App Store, system speech recognition used for on-device transcription, and device backup). Apple’s privacy practices apply to those services. Insight features use external services as described under AI insights and What is and is not sent to servers.
If you email us (for example at the address below), we receive whatever you choose to send. We use that only to respond and to help with your request.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. For significant changes, we will also use reasonable means to let you know, such as a note with an app update or on this website.
